When the story is the same but you feel different about it

Let’s call it a trigger or trauma of Christmas past. The same “thing” happens but you don’t feel activated. Maybe it’s a trigger that has caught you for years. An ongoing loss or trauma that seemed never ending. And then one day – poof. The pain is gone, your vision is no longer clouded by that pain, and you can see clearly the cloudy lens through which you used to look hence feel.
